Known fully as the FIFA World Cup, it was first organized in 1930. It is being held in four year periods since then, similar to Olympics. The World Cup is organized by the Federation Internationale de Football Association, FIFA. Each year, thirty-two national country teams square off in the football world cup, with around two-hundred teams participating in the qualifiers. The current champions of the FIFA World Cup is Spain, who won it in 2010 and whose games were watched eagerly live by those with World Cup ticket s in hand.
Till date, nineteen World Cup tournaments have been organized, in different countries of the world. Brazil has won the tournament the most times, at five. Brazil also holds the record for being the only team to play in every tournament that has been held. They are followed closely by four time winner Italy, three time winner West Germany, two time winners Uruguay and Argentina, and one time winners Spain, France and England. The last tournament was held in South Africa in 2010.
The next FIFA World Cup is set to be held in Brazil in 2014, followed soon after by a 2018 tournament in Russia and then a 2022 tournament in Qatar. The attendance of these games is always massive and it is often difficult to find tickets. This is the reason why World Cup tickets are booked way in advance so that football fans can make early booking and get a good deal. Now that World Cup tickets have been released for the 2014 edition, it is advised to reserve your seats at the earliest since these deals won't last for long.
