UCF or the University of Central Florida is a public research university in Orlando Florida. The sports teams which represent the university are called the UCF Knights. They have six men's teams and nine women's teams to represent the university in various sports. The Knights football team competes in National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, which is the top most level of College Football. The football team is under the guidance of head coach George O'Leary who is in his eleventh year with the Knights. The Knights are in terrific form having completed their 2013 season in a remarkable way, losing just one game throughout the season. They also lifted the American Athletic Conference Championship and emerged the Fiesta Bowl Champions. The Knights have had many achievements and won many titles. They have been division champions four times, with their latest title coming in the 2012 season. The remaining three titles also came in the span of the last ten years, in 2005, 2007 and 2010. The Knights have recorded three conference championships. Two of the wins came when the Knights played in the C-USA conference. They won their third title in the last season, which was incidentally their first season in the American Athletic Conference. Before George O'Leary signed on the Knights had not made any post season appearance. Winning the conference title pitched the Knights against the Baylor Bears, in the Knights first appearance in a major bowl. The Knights defeated the Bears, causing a great upset and winning by a margin of fifty two to forty two.

The Knights stadium is the Bright House Networks Stadium where they play their home games. The forty five thousand seat stadium is located on the campus of the UCF. It is the crown jewel of the University's Athletics Village. Settled over twenty five acres, the Stadium is a source of pride for the Knights, since no tuition fees or public money was used to construct the sixty million dollar structure. All the money came from ticket sales, naming rights, corporate sponsorships, suite leases or donations.

The mascot of the Knights is a knight is gold and black armor, named Knightro. Knightro was formed in 1994 to replace the former mascot Citronaut. The mascot appears on sport events and on social events related to the University of Central Florida. Knightro can be seen driving in a car which is named "Chariot II". The car was developed by students from the engineering department of UFC.
