The UCF Golden Knights are the many teams that make up the athletics program of the fabulous University of Central Florida, located in Orlando, Florida. Members of the Conference USA, they are also set to join the Big East Conference in mid 2013. This is a program that is a member of the NCAA Division I with its football team playing in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Its current athletics director is Todd Stansbury with sixteen varsity teams calling it home. Its football team practices and plays home games at the Bright House Networks Stadium. Similarly, the basketball teams play at the UCF Arena and the baseball teams at the Jay Bergman Field. The soccer teams play at the UCF Soccer and Track Stadium.
Often seen live by many via UCF Golden Knights tickets, these are undoubtedly teams ranked as America's finest. Their lacrosse team plays home games at the UCF Intramural Fields with other teams often congregating at The Venue at UCF. Their official mascot is Knightro with the teams fondly known as the Knights with the women's teams often nicknamed as the Lady Knights. Set to join the Big East Conference in mid 2013, this program fields nine women's teams, six men's team and one co-ed team. The UCF Golden Knights are the proud owners of many a conference and national title.
The UCF Golden Knights football team has won the Conference USA Championship several times, including in 2007 and 2010. Similarly, the women's basketball team has won the 2009 and 2010 Conference USA Championships, added to having many cheap UCF Golden Knights tickets sold to see them play live. The cheerleading team, famous nationally, has won the prestigious College Cheerleading ttile in 2003 and Dance Team Nationals in 2007.
The UCF Golden Knights football team has spawned some great NFL players, including Asante Samuel, Brandon Marshall and Daunte Culpepper. It has taken part in four bowl games, added to winning two Conference Championships.
