Their official stadium is ONEOKE Field located at the Greenwood district. They used to play at the Drillers Stadium before moving to ONEOKE Field which was located near the Fairgrounds in Tulsa County.

Their first match at ONEOK Field took place in April 2010 in which they lost 0-7 to Corpus Christi Hooks. They played in front of nearly 8,665 people. Their first competitive season attracted 408,183 spectators which is the highest season figure ever in professional Tulsa baseball history.

Tulsa Drillers was established in 1977 during the Louisiana team transfer to Tulsa. The Tula Oilers were the previous minor league club team in the city. The Tulsa Oilers were moved to New Orleans Louisiana due to the horrible condition of Oiler Park, leaving space for Tulsa Drillers.

The Drillers became Double A affiliates of the Texas Rangers from 1976 to 2002. Tom Hicks purchased the Texas League franchise based in Shreveport Louisiana in 2002 and wanted to move the franchise to Frisco, Texas. During that stage, the baseball team called Shreveport Swamp Dragons was affiliated with the San Francisco Giants. Hicks put an end to his deal and purchased the two years left of the Tulsa's Player Development Contract. Drillers signed a deal with Colorado Rockies for two years.

The Drillers won the renowned Texas League championship three times. They won the championship in 1988, 1982 and the final time in 1998. They have also won two Eastern Division championships, once in 1999 and again in 2002. The Driller made appearances in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 at the Texas League playoffs.

The Drillers was first owned by Bill Rollings who bought the Lafayette franchise in 1977 after moving the franchise to Tulsa. Roy Clark co owned the team for nearly six years. In 1986, Wen Hubbard purchased the Drillers followed by Chuck Lamson who bought most of Hubbard's stock in 2006. Lamson who was also a former Drillers' former executive and pitcher became the majority owner and president of the team. Lamson sold the entire stock he bought from Hubbard back to him in December 2010. Went Hubbard became the sole owner with his two sons Jeff and Dale as co-chairmen.
