The series regularly included some of its exclusive trucks like Black Stallion, Eradicator and Virginia Giant but since the event now takes place on a pattern similar to Monster Jam many of the trucks from Monster Jam now also take part in Thunder Nationals and some of the names are two times Monster Jam Championship winner Grave Digger and Maximum Destruction.

The wheeling competition basically refers to a technique by which the drivers can make the trucks stand on two hind wheels, this is extremely exciting but difficult as it requires firm handling. Straight line racing is simply two trucks racing to beat each other on a straight track and speed is the main decider in this case. Some times the trucks are also made to run over old bikes and cars smashing them to bits of debris.
