The Rhode Island Rams is the athletics program of the University of Rhode Island. It is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference and is a member of the NCAA Division I. Some of the franchises play in the Colonial Athletic Association. The program is lead by Thorr Bjorn, as the athletics director, with the university itself located at Kingston in Rhode Island. It is home to ten women's teams and eight men's teams. The football teams play at the Meade Stadium with the basketball teams playing at the Ryan Center. They have a fierce rivalry with the North Carolina Tar Heels, who share many similar features to them, such as having mascots that pay homage to their agricultural heritage and identical official colors.
