The Red Bull Indianapolis GP is one of 18 such annual races that form the Grand Prix motorcycle racing calendar, with races held in a number of continents & tracks. The premier championship, the Road Racing World Championship, has three distinct classes: 125cc, Moto2, & MotoGP. It was formed in 1949, & is globally recognized as the leading authority on bikes racing. It was itself formed by the Federation Internationale de Motorcyclisme (FIM), the world’s governing body on the sport, having 98 member federations in six regions.
The Road Racing World Championship stretches back to 1949, when its inception was engineered by FIM. FIM’s authority encompasses 98 different national motorcycle federations, which are divided into six global regions since its own 1904 formation. Of the five disciplines that it covers, road racing involves paved, purpose-built race tracks like the ones used in Grand Prix motorcycle racing. In 1949, FIM got together with three other stakeholders: the commercial giants Dorna Sports (which hold the rights), the teams (represented by IRTA, International Road Racing Teams Association), & the manufacturers (MSMA, Motorcycle Sport Manufacturers Association). The result was formation of Road Racing World Championship by this four-member Grand Prix Commission, which still retains the rights to enforce any changes in the rules & regulations as it sees fit, with Dorna casting the tie-breaker vote. The classes of competition are based on engine size, with 50cc, 80cc, 125cc, 250cc, 350cc, & 500cc machines having all been employed in battle, either in two-stroke or four-stroke. In the early 60s, four-stroke configuration was widespread, but it was literally wiped off the market by two-strokes in the 70s & ensuing decades. Following a lack of relevance to the consumer, two-stroke bikes eventually phased out in the past few years. The current classes are the two-stroke 125cc, and the four-stroke Moto2 600cc & MotoGP 800cc (in 2012, it will revert to 1000cc). Pertaining to actual race, following a qualifying session where the fastest lap runners are awarded pole positions for the races, the race is held without any stoppages for fuel. The points scoring system awards 25 to 1st, 20 to 2nd, 16 to 3rd, 13 to 4th, 11 to 5th, 10 to 6th, & then progressively decreases to 1 point for 15th placed finish. The accumulated points at the year’s end crown the rider the world champion in his class. The constructors’ championship points are also simultaneously totaled: in MotoGP, Ducati, Honda, Yamaha, & Suzuki vie for the title; in Moto2, Moriwaki, Suter, Speed Up, Motobi, FTR, Tech3, Bimota, Promoharris, & MZ fight for the crown; while in the 125cc class, Aprilia, Derbi, KTM, Honda, Lambretta, Yamaha, & Mahindra are involved in the title race. 18 races are held over the course of the season.
The Indianapolis Speedway lies on 4790 West 16th Street in Speedway (an Indianapolis suburb), Wayne Township, Marion County, Indiana. It is the oldest facility to be officially used as a racing track, & its seating increases to a colossal 400,000 on race day. The 2.5-mile track is essentially unchanged since its 1909 inauguration for a two-day 15-race motorcycle competition. The Red Bull Indianapolis GP brought bikes back to the arena in 2008, & is now looking forward to its fourth race on 28th August.
Red Bull is the sponsor of the event, & the track’s rich tradition, coupled with the nearby Hall of Fame Museum & Brickyard Crossing Golf Resort make it a fan-favorite. The Indianapolis Speedway is owned & managed by Hulman & Co.
Whether it is Valentino Rossi’s breathtaking racing & endearing antics, the resurgence of the young riders’ brigade, or the glitz & glam of the sport, Red Bull Indianapolis GP tickets are sure in high demand. Fans will be basking in the glory of another high-octane finish this August, a luxury afforded by the purchase of Red Bull Indianapolis GP tickets.

Nine performance nights are included in the rodeo, and each night contains several acts to entertain the attendees. Some of the nightly performance events that are included in the rodeo are:
Bareback: This is an event where the cowboy is pitted against a bucking bronc in between rider and horse, and with no saddle. The cowboy needs to hold on for 8 seconds. He gets marks due to his spurring techniques. If the rigging is held with two hands, he is disqualified.
Steer Wrestling: In this event, a steer is expelled from a parachute, and two cowboys have to chase it. They have to make sure that the steer lands on the ground with all its feet directed towards one point.
Team Roping: This event also includes two cowboys, a heeler and a header, who have to secure the steer, and make sure that the horses of the roper are face to face on the steer's opposite ends.
Saddle Bronc: In this event, the rider is supposed to hold onto a bucking bronco for 8 seconds. They are given points for their spurring and riding abilities.
Double Mugging : In Double Mugging, a few cowboys are required to wrestle a stock animal to the ground. This act is based upon the Paniolos of Hawaii.
Mutton Bustin': This is an exciting event, where children act as cowboys. They have to hold onto the back of a sheep, who is running at full speed. It is believed to be one of the most fun events in the rodeo.
Calf Roping: This is an event where a roper gets on a horse, and has to chase a calf. The calf is given a head start. The rider is supposed to capture the calf, rope it, flank it, and has to tie three of its legs with a string called the pigging string. The rider who finishes first, wins.
Barrel Racing: This is a high speed, graceful act, where the riders are all women. They are required to make their horses run around a triangular design in the ground, which has three barrels places in it. Again, the rider who finishes in the least amount of time, wins.
Bull Riding: Bull Riding is perhaps the most dangerous and exciting acts in the entire rodeo, and hence is mostly always saved for the last. The cowboy needs to hold onto the bull for 8 seconds. He is not supposed to touch the equipment or the animal with his free hand, and is disqualified if he does. Their spurring techniques are also taken into notice, although it is not required for this event.
All these highly exciting acts leave the audience in a state of extreme excitement at the event, as they cheer on the riders and give their support.
