When we talk about the Greek football scene, PAOK F.C is among the most followed Greek football clubs in the nation. PAOK FC boasts having a long and historical background that is full of ups and downs. Although history of the club can be traced all the way back to Hermes Sports Club in 1877 but the current form of PAOK F.C came into being later in 1926. Presently, the franchise calls Toumba Stadium its home ground while playing as a member of Superleague Greece. Superleague Greece is the highest form of domestic football in the country and it comprises of eighteen teams in the league.
So far the team has competed in twenty five games in Superleague and currently ranks at the second spot on the league table. If PAOK manages to maintain this position, fans of the team will get to see their favorite players making it to the Superleague playoffs. PAOK FC has always enjoyed a strong fan following within the region and even outside of it. That is why as of February 16, 2014 the team ranks at number 2 spot for selling a large number of PAOK FC tickets this season.
Apart from the Superleague Greece, team's 2013-14 Greek Football Club season is offering top of the line football action to the fans of PAOK FC as well. PAOK FC started its season in the Greek Football Club from the second round and as of February 13, 2014 that team has made it to the semifinals. In the semifinals, PAOK F.C will go up against Olympiacos in the first and second leg. And if successful, PAOK FC will then face either OFI or Panathinaikos in the finals that will take place at the Athens Olympic Stadium. If PAOK FC successfully claims the Greek Football Cup, it will then also qualify for the playoff round of the 2014-15 season of UEFA Europa League.
PAOK FC started its current season in the Champions League from the third qualifying round and was only able to make it to the playoff round before being knocked out. In the UEFA Europa League, PAOK started from the Group Stage and is currently in the Round of 32. In that knockout round, PAOK will go up against Benfica on February 20 for first leg while the second leg will take place on February 27, 2014. If PAOK F.C manages to defeat Benfica, the team will then head on over to the Round of 16 and then to Quarter Finals.
