Of the sixteen sports played at the Ole Miss, their football team is perhaps the most successful and famous part of the Rebels community. The football program was set up in 1893 and was the first official football team in the entire state. They have claimed the national championship three times in their history and the first two came in the back to back seasons of 1959 and 1960. The third title came their way in 1962.  They have also got their hands on six conference titles. They have also won the division championship once, in 2003 and followed that up by winning the Birmingham Bowl in 2013.

The baseball team representing the Ole Miss is also one of the oldest in the state, having been established in 1893. They are considered among the most successful sports teams at the Ole Miss. They have appeared in the College World Series nine times and have made it to the NCAA tournament on nineteen occasions. They have won the conference tournament twice and have been conference regular season champions seven times.

Ole Miss Rebels played their first official basketball match in 1909 and have since achieved a modicum of success. They have appeared in the NCAA Tournament seven times and have taken part in the National Invitation Tournament on eleven occasions. Moreover they have been crowned conference tournament champions twice and have also won the division title five times in their history.
