Ohio Bobcats are Ohio University's intercollege athletics' teams which include 6 men's teams and 9 women's teams. The Bobcats participate in the Mid-American Conference in all of the sports. They were a contract participant of the Mid-American Conference in the year 1946 and the one team that is still part of the conference amongst the original five league teams including Wayne State University, Case Western Reserve University, University of Cincinnati and Butler University. Another prominent Bobcat team is that of men's golf which has won eighteen MAC tournament titles! Dow Finsterwald, who is considered a legend in PGA, is amongst the renowned Ohio alumni.

The very famous Ohio Bobcats football team began play in 1894 and has earned a record of 498-516-48 in the 112 years of their existence, as well as a record of 202-243-11 in their sixty years in the Mid-American Conference. They've won five MAC Football contests, as well as three MAC East Division tournaments. Apart from being a titled state historic site, The Peden Stadium in Athens, Ohio is the oldest football site in the MAC. The stadium seats twenty-four thousand fans at a time.

The women's swimming and diving team has also won a total of ten MACchampionships and The Aquatic Center actually provides one of the best swimming and diving amenities in the country. The Convocation Center at 95 Richmond Avenue serves as the Ohio Bobcats' venue for basketball, wrestling and volleyball.
