Back in Lincoln, they started their own league, No Coast, at the National Museum of Roller Skating. In 2006, they competed in their first public game, attracting a crowd of over two thousand. They started out with several teams in the league but later focused more heavily on interleague play and thus shrank to two teams. In 2010, they played host to the WFTDA South Central Regional Tournament and played in it as well.
In their upcoming matchup, the Derby Girls will take on the United Rollers team, otherwise known as USA Roller Sports Roller Derby team or USARS Roller Derby. This roller derby team is fielded by USARS, known previously as the United States Amateur Confederation of Roller Skating, and the national governing body of competitive roller sports in the US. USARS oversees various roller sports, including inline speed skating, roller figure skating, jam skating, skateboarding and others. In 2011, they introduced roller derby and thus launched an official US team. USARS ranks roller derby as one of the most rapidly growing sports in the world, with a record twelve hundred leagues in thirty eight countries worldwide.
