With a unique initiative, FAM managed to get a good amount of members but later due to World War I, most of the members of the organization left which rendered FAM, out of business in 1919. While FAM was still functioning, M&ATA was another similar organization that was formed back in 1916. And after FAM went out of business in 1919, it became the sole functioning body which represented the rights of motorcyclists across nation. Through time, M&ATA also managed to get a good amount of members and almost after five years Registered Riders Division of M&ATA was renamed to American Motorcycle Association.
