Mike's another big victory was against Ghana's Raymond Narh, which earned him the WBC Continental Americas Light Welterweight Championship. A few years ago in Denver, Alvarado also won the IBF Latino Light Welterweight Championship by defeating Gabriel Martinez. Following his victory against Mauricio Herrera in 2012, Mike Alvarado was inducted in "The Gatti List" on HBO's The Fight Game with Jim Lampley. The list consists of the Top Ten most entertaining fighters.
The same year, Mike's slugfest against Brandon Rios also turned out to be the headline of every newspaper, earning him the title of "2012 Fight of the Year" by a well-known magazine, Sports illustrated. His most recent victory was against Rios in March, 2013, followed up by a loss against Ruslan Provodnikov, in October, 2013.
