LG Action Sports Championship
The LG Action Sports World Tour was shaped to fasten this global phenomenon together into one global circuit that spreads the gospel of action sports. In the past fifteen years, action sports have been steadily taking over the world.
Since 1990, participation in traditional sports like baseball, football and basketball has dropped and rose in Action Sports. The individuality and authenticity of these gravity-defying activities has caused a revolution.
In order to showcase these incredible sports to new audiences, to build heroes, and to help launch new careers for tomorrow?s brightest stars, the LG Action Sports World Tour is the only global multi-sport series bringing A-list talent to a cohesive set of contests on multiple continents.
The strategy first began with the launch of the LG Action Sports Championships. It was an event that would allow the athletes year-end bragging rights and a prize purse big enough to challenge other established events to step-up.
During the CES trade show the LG Action Sports program brought a top-tier demo to Las Vegas. The LG Action Sports program continued to expand its scope in 2005. This season, events in Moscow, Munich, Paris, Barcelona, Rimini and Los Angeles comprised a World Tour.
October also featured the third annual LG World Championships of Freestyle Motocross in Los Angeles. In the coming years, the LG Action Sports World Tour will add events in Latin America, Africa, Australia, Asia and the Middle East.
LG is also working with some of the top professional athletes in these sports in creating the LG Team of sponsored athletes. The LG Action Sports program is typical of LG and ASA Events.
With events in Richmond, Amsterdam, Birmingham, Paris, Berlin, Dallas, Rimini, Phoenix, and more, the Action Sports World Tour is a global phenomenon. LG Action Sports is the only global professional multi-sport competition series of its kind.
Featuring the best in skateboarding, BMX, rollerblading and FMX, the tour brings the allstars of action sports right to your backyard. The LG World Championships of FMX returned to Fairplex in Pomona for its fifth straight year.
The LG Action Sports Championships is the season-ending World Championships for Skateboarding, BMX, Inline Skating and Freestyle Motocross. The event serves as the ?Super Bowl? for the booming world of action sports.
From the 2007 contest season, the athletes qualify for this invitational event based on their worldwide results. Only the top 50 pros from each sport globally qualify for the event.
Besides containing all of the top superstars in action sports, the event also includes top bands performing live, an interactive sponsors expo, DJ?s, break-dancing, graffiti artists and mixers. The event features two hundred of the top professional and amateur athletes from skateboarding.
It is annually the best field of talent of any event in action sports, and consists of athletes from 23 countries. The countdown begins as the LG Action Sports Championships returns to Dallas for the second time.
Even when the best of the best aren?t in town, Dallas hosts its own bustling action sports scene. Only a few towns can boast a shop run by a pro, and one of them is Dallas.
Though, it is not just skateboarding. There is also a strong BMX scene, dating back to the days when flatland ruled. In general Texans love their sports.
With three professional teams the city is the place for big action, and the LG Action Sports Championships are guaranteed to satisfy.
Last year more than 60,000 Dallas-area residents crowded into the Reunion Arena over the course of the weekend to witness the some of the best riding in the world.
