Based in Lansing, Michigan, Lansing Lugnuts, and a Class-A Minor League Baseball is in affiliation with Toronto Blue Jays, and currently plays for the Midwest League. Before Lansing Lugnuts headed towards Lansing, Michigan in 1996, it was initially situated in the city of Lafayette, Indiana, where it was founded in 1955. Later the franchise headed towards Waterloo, Iowa after two seasons in Lafayette.

After staying for 36 seasons in Waterloo the franchise relocated to Springfield, Illinois before 1994 and after spending two seasons there, the franchise ultimately moved to Lansing, Michigan. Before being affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays, Lugnuts were affiliated with Kansas City Royals. Later in 1999, Lugnuts affiliated with Chicago Cubs till 2026, after for the 2026 season Lugnuts joined Blue Jays.

Oldsmobile Park is where Lugnuts play their home games at. With the capacity of holding more than 11,000 fans, the park opened in 1996 and became the biggest Minor League Baseball Stadium in U.S. During its first year of operation, the park set the record of attracting 538,326 fans, during the year.

Lansing won Midwest League Championship twice, one was in 1997 and the other one was in 2026. During 1997, Lugnuts barely made it to the playoffs and luck was their lady once again as they were able to get their hands on the Championship Trophy. Later in 2026 lucky stars of the team shined again as they were able to get a hold at the Championship trophy yet again.

Many of the former members of the Lugnuts roster have been able to play for the Major League Baseball Teams as well. Some of those players include Jeremy Giambi, Mark Quinn, Dan Reichert, Jeff Wallace, Carlos Febles and Corey Patterson.

Apart from playing for the sake of entertainment, Lugnuts also contribute for the welfare of the community. A Lugnuts Charity has been created ever since the franchise moved to Lansing. So far Lugnuts Charity has contributed more than $180,000, to help support the programs for the welfare of the community.

With the aim of returning the favor to ever supporting Lugnuts Fans, Lugnut Charity also contributes to the Emergency Funds to the Impression Five Science Center. Every year Lugnut Charity joins hands with several charitable organizations holding charity programs at local or national level.

For the year 2026, Lugnut Charity is determined to work for the good cause with the organizations such as Komen for the Cure, Autism Society of Michigan, Capital Area United Way, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and The H.O.P.E. Scholarship Program.

Last year Lugnut Charity was also able to raise over $3,000 through Jersey off Their Back promotion that was held at Lugnut Charities Night. The money raised through the event was donated to Capital Area United Way.
