Lacey Tickets
Lacey tickets are your passes to the spectacular event of the Tournament of Rose Parade. The parade takes place on the first or second day of the New Year. It started off in 1890 as a part of a meeting at the Pasadena Valley Hunt Club, where an honorary member suggested the need for having a festival that represents the real culture of California. The very first parade got the attention of about 2,000 people who spread the word around. More people came the following years, loving the floats that decorated and moved on the Colorado Avenue.
Today this two hour long parade has become a symbol of Pasadena. Held as a part of the Rose Bowl celebrations, the event presents dozens of beautifully decorated floats and marching bands for the spectators to enjoy. There are many amazing equestrian units that also participate in the parade. It is watched live by hundreds of thousands of visitors coming to California for the Rose Bowl. The parade travels on a route that passes through the city of Pasadena. Beginning at the Ellis Street/Orange early morning, this 5.5 mile route ends at the Sierra Madre Boulevard/Villa Street in approximately two hours.
There are many viewing sites and facilities for the parade. The Grandstand Viewing is the best place to watch everything that goes around. Tickets for the stands here are very high in demand and must be purchased in advance. Curbside viewing is for walk in spectators and is available on first come first serve basis. Sidewalk viewing is the closest alongside the parade route; the stands here are for free and get filled up a day before. Hence, many people make overnight camps and spend a good time hanging out on the streets. You can choose any one of these sites and see a lot of pre and post parade activities.
Equestfest is a very interesting part of the parade. It shows a large variety of horses found in the area and their riders show off their talent trick riding, drills and roping demonstrations. You can talk to the riders and get pictures taken with your favorite horses. Float Decorating allows visitors to see how float makers finish off their projects. Post-Parade Float Display are exhibits that are enjoyed greatly by families. The parade makes the afternoon at downtown Pasadena an enjoyable one.
Everything from the artistic creations, live music and lively cheers of the crowds make the Tournament of Rose Parade a memorable one. All-star bands from the Bandfest (a live band marching that happens two days before the actual parade) also come down to play music during and after the parade. They play great marching music and are fun to spend time with.
The Tournament of Roses Parade is a one of a kind event. It is an occasion where anyone looking for a break from the cold winters can have a great time. If you are interested in being a part of the event, make sure you book the tickets soon.
