Associated members of the Sun Belt Conference, the teams are managed by the Athletic Director Brian Wickstrom. They play from the NCAA Division I-A. For their magnificent display of action on the field, the teams have won Southland Conference championship four times. They also won the I-AA National Championship in 1987. Star players include Bubby Brister, Doug Pederson, Teddy Garcia, Joe Profit, Smokey Stover, Chris Harris and more. The team in maroon and gold is represented by the mascot called Ace the Warhawk.
