The Kent State Golden Flashes have also won five amazing Mid American Conference Men's All Sport trophies with the women's teams ranking in the top three within the conference for a record thirteen consecutive years, winning the Jacoby All Sport Trophy a record seven times. As of the 2009 to 2010 season, both the men's and women's teams have ranked in the top three for a record nine consecutive seasons. All of this has led the NCAA to certify the Kent State Golden Flashes with a full certification not once but twice.

The men's basketball team finished fifth in the 2002 national championships, the men's golf team finished ninth and sixth in 2002 and 2008, the men's indoor track and field squad ranked second in 1973 and fifth in 1972, whereas the outdoor squad ranked sixth the same years, the softball team ranked seventh in 1990, the wrestling team ranked fifth twice in 1941 and 1942 and the co-ed cheerleading squad ranked eight and ninth in 2008 and 2009.
