This post-seasonal college football bowl game has been an annual tradition of Hawaii. Since its onset in 2002 it has been played at the Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. Another tradition of this game is the representation of the University of Hawaii which remains a permanent participant of the owl regardless of its standings and performance in the WAC. However, Hawaii also contests after clearing the requirement for not being a participant of the BCS. Therefore, the Bowl is a super game for all local and rival teams of the PAC-12 and WAC teams. The UCF Knights came to the Bowl in the year 2005 as a novice to bowl game was a one of its kind entry. An interesting part of the anniversary celebration was the public voting to create the Bowl's Ten Year Anniversary Team.
