Countrywide Classic Tennis Tournament
Being held in Los Angeles, California the Countrywide Classic tennis tournament was formerly known as the Mercedes Benz Cup. It is a Tennis tournament held on the ATP Tour international Series and is held in July or August every year.
The tournament has featured number of top ranked men in the Professional tennis world since 1927 as well as the women since 1975. The tournament lasts for one week and is hosted at the Los Angles Tennis Center at UCLA.
Through its history some of the notable tennis figures that claimed the championship include Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Jimmy Connors, Arthur Ashe, John McEnroe and Billie Jean King. Among other tournaments, Countrywide Classic is also a part of US open Series.

Apart from that, by means of the votes received by the tennis players, the tournament was also cited as the Tournament of the Year for the total of 11 time, out of which 10 times were in a consecutive manner from 1988 to 1997.

When it comes to the longest running women's professional tennis tournament, it would be none other than the Bank of West Classic that acts as the first stop of the US open Series.
The Bank of the West Classic that is also a WTA Tour Tier II event, features 28 player singles draw and 16 team doubles draw. The total prize money offered at the tournament is of $700,000. The tournament is held at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium in the Stanford University campus.
