The team stepping into Round Rock Express's home arena is Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Formed in 1988, the team initially became Chicago White Sox's Class-A affiliate. Joining the Western League, the side remained its member till it folded. It was during this time that the Minor League team got named after the Major League Baseball team, Chicago White Sox. The side was formed after Hawaii Islanders moved to Colorado Springs to become Colorado Springs Sky Sox. With this, the Colorado Springs area witnessed a reformation of the 1950 Sky Sox Minor League team. Initially the baseball team became a Triple-A affiliate of the MLB team, Cleveland Indians. It was in 1992 that the Sky Sox became affiliated with Colorado Rockies. With the Spurgeon Stadium as the team's home arena, Colorado Springs Sky Sox is supports the colors red, white and blue. Currently playing in the PCL (Pacific Coast League), the Sky Sox have bagged two PCL League and Northern Division titles in 1992 and 1995.
