The college teams that initially played for the win included the Auburn Tigers, UCLA Bruins, North Carolina Tar Heels, LSU Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers and Virginia Tech Hokies. The inaugural game brought in an audience of seventy thousand and the Alabama Crimson Tide bagged the big win playing off against the Clemson Tigers, with a score 34-10. The next year's game brought in a greater attendance that reached a figure of seventy five thousand and the win went to the Crimson Tide once again who were able to end the game with a score of 34-24 against Virginia Tech Hokies this time. The following years brought victories to teams, LSU Tigers, Boise State Broncos, Tennessee Volunteers and Clemson Tigers. This year, the Alabama Crimson Tide will be battling out against the West Virginia's football team.
