This is going to be a very interesting game as both teams have had underwhelming seasons. The Bobcats had started their last season well but ended it with six losses and seven victories. The Chippewas did not fare much better and finished their season with six wins and six losses. These teams have met each other over twenty eight times. The Chippewas football team from the Central Michigan University played its first game in 1896, more than a hundred years ago. The past few seasons have not been all that productive for the team and they will be looking to improve significantly this time around. The Chippewas have traditionally been their conference leaders with sixteen conference titles to their name, the first of which came in 1952 and the last came in the 2009 season. They have also been division champions three times and have won three out of the seven Bowl games they played. Their greatest achievement is their National Title win in the year 1974 when they posted a season record of twelve wins and one loss.

The Bobcats football team from Ohio University was formed in 1894, two years before Michigan started their team. The Bobcats were a dominant team in the 20s and in the 60s but struggled for form in the latter years before the 2005 season. They achieved national recognition for their game as their coach Solich led them to six winning seasons.  The 60s saw them win their first and only National Championship when they posted an unbeaten season winning all ten of their games. They have further won eleven conference tiles and have been division champions three times.

The fact that they both have had a similar history makes their games all that more exciting.
