Details of Canadian Championship and the Ticket Luck value
With the announcement of the Canadian Championship, also known as the Amway Canadian Championship, soccer fans are invited to purchase Canadian Championship tickets for the event as soon as possible.
Hosted by the Canadian Soccer Association, this championship tournament is celebrating its sixth season ever since it was inaugurated in 2008. The upcoming event promises to bring forth four of the best professional soccer clubs with the highest seeds on the leader boards of the Major Soccer League, who will engage in six competitive matches that will be held throughout the cities of Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. The four teams that will be competing in 2013’s Amway Championship include Toronto FC, Montreal Impact, FC Edmonton and Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Fighting to win the Voyageurs Cup, the only trophy that is awarded to the winning team of a top level soccer championship in Canada, these teams will engage in competitive matches.
Before the initiation of the Canadian Championship, this trophy was usually awarded to the team that finished with the best score in United Soccer League’s First Division. Montreal Impact has bagged the most number of Voyageurs Cups, winning a total of seven trophies from 2002 to 2008. After this comes the Toronto FC that has won 4 Amway Championships from 2009 to 2012. This cup which is the highlight of each year’s Canadian Championship is presented by The Voyageurs, a Canadian supporters group that was established in 1996. Known for the support the members provide to the soccer teams of the Major League Soccer and United Soccer League, this support group is also known to award Voyageurs International Player of the Year Award and the Voyageurs Golden Shoe.
This year, Montreal Impact and Toronto FC will be aiming for yet another win, with the 2013 Amway Championship making its way to Canada. Following a two-vs.-three and a one-vs.-four semi-final format, the teams that are able to score the greatest number of goals in these two types of matches will advance to compete in the finals. Apart from winning the Voyageurs Cup, the winner of this tournament will also be representing Canada in the upcoming 24th CONCACAF Championships League from which the Canadian representative for the 2014 FIFA World Cup will be chosen.
The four teams that have been chosen to compete in this year’s tournament, have been selected on the standard format that picks out three of the best seeding teams from the Major League Soccer, while one team that is on the top of the North American Soccer League is picked. These teams will be competing in two parts, with the first leg of the tournament’s game being held at the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton and the BMO Field in Toronto. The second leg of the tournament will be held at the BC Place in Vancouver and Stade Saputo in Montreal. If you are interested in becoming witness to any of these forthcoming games, all you need to do is buy Canadian Championship tickets now.
