Champions Cup was captured by them twice on their home floor; one by defeating Buffalo Bandits in 2004 and second by defeating New York Titans in 2009. Since 2002, the Roughnecks have been qualifying for the post-season every year. The team made its debut in 2001 against the Montreal Express but lost the game. It had its first victory in December 2011 by defeating Ottawa Rebel. The next four games including the one against Columbus Landsharks were won by Roughnecks. The team won its first championship in the 2002-2003 season by beating the Bandits in front of 19,289 fans. In 2005, they hosted the NLL All Star Game which was televised nationally for the first time. The same year, the team's captain Kelusky won the award of Most Valuable Player.
