The first ever Bryant College sports team was the men's basketball team established in 1896. The team was known as the "Bryant College Indians". The team was initially a part of the NCAA but shifted to National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in 1963. After playing in the NAIA for several years, the team rejoined the NCAA as a 'Division II' club. In 1995, the club was rebranded as "Bryant College Bulldogs" and later became the "Bryant University Bulldogs". The team has won four "President's Cup" as well as forty "Conference Championships". The Bulldog's football teams play their home games at the 'Bulldog Stadium' that has a seating capacity of over five thousand. The purpose built arena was completed in 1999 and has since then hosted numerous high school state championship matches.
