The Brooklyn Cyclones are a baseball team that plays in the minor league. They represent the shorter season of the Penn League from New York. Like the name clearly states their area of origin, the Cyclones play out of the famous MCU Park, located near Coney Island.

The famous New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani passed a new law before the turn of the millennium allowing state of the art playing fields made for teams of the minor league. Thus the Brooklyn Cyclones found a new home in Queens and for a short period of time were lovingly called the Queens Kings. Although it had a ring to it, this name was never formally recognized by the league. After nearly half a century, Brooklyn fans were able to call a team, their own. The last time they had one was in 1958 and that team was called the Brooklyn Dodgers.
 
The Brooklyn Cyclones were named co-champions of their opening season in 2001. They had played tremendously and had earned their place as favorites for yet another division title. However, one of their most famous games had to be cancelled in the wake of one of the most devastating attacks in the history of the US. The Cyclones shared the championship with the Crosscutters. It would take two years to find themselves in a spot to life a division title again in 2003.
 
The 2004 season of minor league baseball is by far one of the most controversial seasons since 1968. Which the team was leading, since the score was washed away, the Cyclones were told to start all over and try beating their rivals, the Tri-City Valley Cats. The rules of the game were changed after Cyclones lost. The following years were better for the Cyclones and they continued to win accolades season after season. They missed some play offs but remained amongst the top five teams in the minor league. The team has lived up to its name as true cyclones, where on a number of occasions they found themselves at the bottom of the league but miraculously came back to win spots in playoffs.
 
Over the years, the Brooklyn Cyclones have made a formidable name for them and given their fans amazing games to watch. Two years ago, the team management signed a decade long contract with the municipality to rename their ballpark from Keyspan Park to Municipal Credit Union Park. From the Boroughs, some of the most epic games have been between their long standing rivals, the Staten Island Yankees. Their games are usually sold out and on many occasions, the management has had to increase stadium capacities to allow more fans to be able to watch.
