The BBVA Compass Bowl is an annual post-season Division I-A college football event. Since the inception of the game, it has become one of the biggest and most loved sporting events of its kind in the United States. In fact, along with the Rose Bowl, the BBVA Compass Bowl is one of the most important college football games every year. Tens of thousands of fans attend the game each year, and the upcoming BBVA Compass Bowl is sure to be no exception. As a result, BBVA Compass Bowl tickets are bound to be one of the hottest sports-related commodities of the year.
At the time of its inception, the game was started by Papa John's Pizza to promote the company's website. Because of this, it was called the PapaJohns.com Bowl. Since then, the event has experienced several major changes, such as a change of sponsors from Papa John's Pizza to BBVA Compass, one of America's largest banks. This led to the event's name being changed to the current BBVA Compass Bowl. The event has come to win the favor of native Birmingham residents owing to its contribution to the local economy, which currently stands at almost sixty million dollars.
At present, the event is owned and managed by ESPN Regional Television, which shares the responsibilities pertaining to the sponsorship, publicity and promotion of the game with the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Naturally, ESPN also broadcasts the BBVA Compass Bowl as well and, over the past few years, the game has become one of the station's premier annual telecasts.
A relatively new event, the BBVA Compass Bowl was first held in December 2006, in which the East Carolina Pirates took on the South Florida Bulls. The event is approved by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and is played at the Legion Field stadium in the city of Birmingham in Alabama. It features teams from the BIG EAST Conference and the Southeastern Conference, two of the largest and most significant participating collegiate conferences in the NCAA. The BBVA Compass Bowl also has a handsome payout of nine hundred-thousand dollars.
Over the span of just a few short years, BBVA Compass Bowl has grown to become one of the nation's biggest sporting events. It features all the hallmarks of a great football game, in particular a stunning and adrenaline-fueled display of skill and sportsmanship. Not surprisingly, the game attracts countless eager sports fans each year who flock to the event in order to witness their favorite college athletes taking each other on in the field. Everyone watches in both excitement and anxiousness, as they wonder what the outcome of the game will be.
Needless to say, the BBVA Compass Bowl experience is seldom, if ever, disappointing. Its legions of fans are a testament to that. All these fans will be happy to know that cheap BBVA Compass Bowl tickets are now up for grabs.
