The Atlanta Sharks are the newest members of American Indoor Football where they play in the American Conference. The team has only played one season to date but they are already a fan favorite due to their aggressive playing style and influence of owner, general manager and head coach Marcus James.
American Indoor Football has been around since 2005 under one name or the other. Over all these years, the league has had to change many names and has even lost a number of teams to other competing leagues. Up until last year, they have lost all their champions right after a season. This means that whatever team wins an AIF championship leaves the league and plays their next season somewhere else. After a bunch of mergers and deals which took the league many years to sort out, the league finally played its first season under its current name in 2012. The league is now re-built and better than ever.
The Atlanta Sharks were added to AIF as an expansion team in 2012. They only played four games in their inaugural season with a losing record of 1-3. Since their division only had 4 teams in it, they failed to make it to the playoffs and could not play any more games in that season. The new season sees the team take on its fierce rivals once again and this time they are being led from the front by owner Marcus James. James has taken it upon himself to manage and coach the team where he has been making sweeping management decisions. The aggressive management style has led to the signing of a number of NFL experienced players which has increased the team's chances of winning this season manifold.
The Sharks play their home games at the Creekside Sports Center in Loganville, GA. This venue is host to a number of sporting events around the year including indoor football, indoor soccer and 3v3 soccer leagues. It is also a local favorite for school and college level events. Fans clad in the team's red, black and white make their way over to the Sports Center for all home games and the atmosphere is explosive every time.
Even though AIF has been around for a long time, it's in its infancy under the rebranded form. This means the Atlanta Sharks still have a long way to go and they've come into the action at just the right time. This year will see them play all their division games at home and travelling while they might also make it to the playoffs. Unlike last year, a number of Sharks players are expected to make it to the all-star team.
If you're an Atlanta Sharks fan, you would want to make sure you're able to attend all their games this season. To guarantee a spot at every game, make sure you get your Atlanta Sharks tickets well in time.
