One of the most prestigious and oldest garden shows, RHS Chelsea Flower Show returns for yet another year of exciting events and a whole lot of flowers. Held by the Royal Horticulture Society, the Chelsea Flower Show is held annually in Chelsea, London and attracts gardening lovers from different parts of the world. RHS Chelsea Flower Show is an annual showcase of innovative garden designs by some of the leading names from the related field. Today, Chelsea Flower Show is attended by more than 157,000 visitors each year, and the event also receives television coverage by BBC. 2014 edition of the show took place in the month of May and attracted a large sum of visitors like always. This year's highlights also included a joint venture between BBC and RHS to come up with a reality TV show that will travel across the nation this summer to search for an aspiring garden designer. The show will be broadcasted on BBC two and the winner of the show will get to design a show garden on Main Avenue in 2015 at RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Like always, the upcoming edition of the show is already turning out to be as flowery as always. So grab your RHS Chelsea Flower Show tickets today as the tickets tend to sell out fairly rapidly.
The Royal Horticulture Society came into being back in 1804, and the very first incarnation of Chelsea Flower Show took place in 1862 under the moniker of Great Spring Show at a RHS garden in Kensington. Prior to that, several other flower shows were held earlier at RHS Garden in Chiswick, but failed to attract any substantial number of visitors. After being held in Kensington for twenty six years, RHS decided to move the show to the center of London and Temple Garden became the site for the show. Later in 1912, Royal International Horticulture Exhibition was held as a one-event at Royal Hospital in Chelsea in place of the Temple Garden Show. The event at Royal Hospital, Chelsea turned out to be such a huge success that the Great Spring Show was decided to be moved there in 1913. Since then, RHS Chelsea Flower Show is being held there.
In addition to its flower show at Chelsea, Royal Horticulture Society also stages its garden shows at Tatton Park and Hampton Court Palace. RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show was held for the first time in 1993, and since then it has gone over to become the largest flower show in the world - taking the crown from its fellow Chelsea Flower Show. The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show offers an opportunity to witness planting and other crafts up close. It also offers fine dining experience coupled with captivating floral arrangements and displays. Adding the touch of live music to the mix makes Hampton Court Palace Show a perfect date with nature during the summer season each year.
Royal Horticulture Society works under the aim of making the world a better place with gardens. For that purpose, the Society stages several other partnership and seasonal shows round the year apart from its three major shows. RHS also owns four gardens across the United Kingdom along with 150 partner gardens. RHS offers free access to all its members to any of these gardens. With its gardens and shows, RHS also educates the gardeners across the nation with its wide array of plant collections as well as other gardening techniques and practices.
For decades, Royal Horticulture Society has been committed to bring its patrons closer to nature and educate them through events like Chelsea Flower show. Being the most prestigious flower show in the United Kingdom, Chelsea Flower Show never fails to enthrall its visitors. The forthcoming edition of Chelsea Flower Show is expected to be as exciting as its preceding versions. So catch this five-day long celebration of nature with RHS Chelsea Flower Show tickets.
