Visible Measures which was used in 2010 as well used a measure called True Reach to determine the nominees. Using this measure, the popularity of the potential nominees is determined. This is done by taking real-time data on internet viewership of videos. Therefore, the selection for the awards depends on most watched videos. Visible Measures uses very sound and patented technology to carry out the research; however the program has received a lot of criticism for using this method of selection. 
 
The 39^th People's Choice Awards for the year 2012 will be held in January 2013.
