Born in 1954, Herman Edwards is a renowned football analyst who used to play with the Philadelphia Eagles as their cornerback. Edward maintained his spot on the team for a good ten seasons from 1977 to 1986, after which he played with the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Rams, for a few seasons. During his career as a football player, he was best known for the fumble recovery that he made during the game with the New York Giants. With no time-outs remaining the Giants were leading the game with a score of 17-12. In order to achieve the winning score the Giants adopted an unpredictable strategy of throwing the ball to their running quarterback, Larry Csonka instead of going with the usual snapping from the centre and then taking from the knee. However, as the Giants were going for their winning score, Edwards caught the loose ball and took it for a touchdown that helped them win the game. After this win Edwards became known as "The Miracle at the Meadowlands". With the ending of his career as a player, he got hired by the Kansas City Chiefs who played in the National Football League. He coached the team for five seasons; from 2001 to 2005 and is best known for his game terminologies that started being called "Hermisms".
