After putting forth 2011' smash success X-fest, 91x is again priming up the charge for unloading another broadside of rock vibes in 2012, the 91x Fest. Rock fanatics from all over descended upon the 20,000 seating Cricket Wireless Theater in the sandy stretches of Chula Vista in California. The thrashing lineup stretched from Incubus and Bush to Iration, Viva Brother, Middle Class Rut, Little Hurricane, Graffiti 6 and Face to Face.
The 2012 91x Fest boasts a lineup that is enough to put other rock celebrations to shame. Off late, Jane's Addiction have been trooping all over the US and making pit stops at one festival or the other. This super group, featuring the "electra-fied" Dave Navarro on lead guitars, has been infecting their fans with their addictive vibes since 1985. The now iconic Lollapalooza Festival was spawned from their farewell tour the first time around. Rock veterans Garbage need no introduction. They have been effusing copious rock laden tunes since the mid-nineties. Their tracks "Stupid girl," "The World is not Enough" and "Only Happy When It Rains" have been part of the undercurrent of the rock milieu in the past two decades. They have sold more than 17 million records and have amassed a plethora of platinum and gold certifications. Their list of award nominations runs from seven Grammys to 11 VMAs, having clinched the "Best New Act" category at the 1996 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Riding on some beams of light into the 91x Fest come Angels and Airwaves, powering through with their otherworldly vibes in a super symphonic flight; piloted by frontman Tom DeLonge, former Blink-182 member, Angels and Airwaves has a trifecta of MTV VMAs to their credits, including "Best New Artist In A Video," as well a quartet of studio albums, including two Billboard top-ten albums. P.O.D. have been thumping and grinding for the past two decades and have sold more than 10 million copies of their seven album repertory and one of the most successful Christian metal bands of all time. Their singles "Alive" and "Youth of the Nation" gained mainstream success back in 2001 and the respective album Satellite went triple platinum in the US. You will surely feel "born again" at their 91x Fest gig. Though having entered into the reggae leagues in the new millennium, Rebelution they have fast made a name for themselves, having seen their sophomoric offering Courage to Grow peak the 4th spot on Billboard's Top Reggae Albums chart.
Rounding out the ten-band line up of the 2012 91x Fest are Grouplove, Of Monsters and Men, Neon Trees, Eve 6 and Walk the Moon. The feel-good outpourings of one will be overwhelmed by the monstrous unleashing of the other. Neon Trees' nouveau stylistic vibes will compliment the chic ones of Garbage. Eve 6 will musically expound their experimental melodies and Walk the Moon will expose their "dark side" through their tunes.
