Tyler Shaw is a rising and exciting Canadian singer-songwriter who is ready to kick off a concert very soon. The British Columbian native has won the much coveted MuchMusic Covers Contest 2012 hosted by the Canadian music cable channel, MuchMusic. Singing comes naturally to this rising superstar since he has never taken a professional musical training before. At the age of thirteen, Tyler discovered his interest in music when he began to play an old guitar lying underneath his staircase. He continued to practice on his old strings and later on began to write songs rather than just the covers. Tyler was in his first year at the University of Prince Edward Island when his roommate and friend, Kyle Dutton encouraged him to make a cover and participate in the Coca Cola MuchMusic Covers Contest in 2012. Hence, he made an original video cover of Hedley's single, Invincible from the album, Storm and this video audition led him into the list of top fifteen final contestants. Tyler climbed the ladder as he landed among the top ten contestants by making a cover of Adele's single Rolling in the Deep from the album, 21. Finally, Tyler peaked among the top three consultants after creating an outstanding cover of Britney Spears single, I Wanna Go from the album, Femme Fatale. Tyler's friends prompted him and he submitted his YouTube videos to the 2012 MuchMusic's Coca-Cola's Covers competition. Upon the insistence of his friends, Tyler submitted the videos and luckily his videos were chosen as the best ones from nearly thirteen thousand submissions. Tyler went on cloud nine as soon as he heard the news as seen live during the MuchMusic Video Awards in June 2012.

Tyler Shaw has lived all his life with a strong faith in passion, ambition, creativity and motivation and today the bright star is letting his undeniable talent shine on radio stations. In November 2012, Tyler released his incredible debut single, Kiss Goodnight on radio stations across the country which is distributed through Sony Music Entertainment Canada. The romantic number has been co-written by Shaw, Stephen Kozminuk and Todd Clark and produced by Kozminuk and Zuban Thakkar. The single has been released by the inventive music video and website production fund, MuchFACT that is run by the Canadian MuchMore and MuchMusic stations.
