It is time to party with lazy live reggae from Southern California with The Dirty Heads tickets. The Dirty Heads are Jared Watson a.k.a Dirty J, Dustin Bushnell a.k.a Duddy B, Jon Olazabal, Matt Ochoa and David Foral. The band has played Reggae mainly but has also performed offshoots of hip-hop, Reggae Fusion and progressive music like ska, Alternative rock and Acoustic Rock. The band has a very original sound that comes from the personality of the band members who have a very hip-hop kind of outlook. The band became famous for playing hip-hop along with classic reggae. The music played by them has loads of bold beats and thumping rhythms. The best thing about their songs are the feel-good lyrics that leaves the listener relaxed and at ease.
The band originated from the Orange County's Huntington Beach when Jared Watson met Dustin Bushnell in 1996. While still in high school these boys were deeply involved in making music. They shared many common interests like surfing and skating. However, music was their foremost passion and they wanted to play it as a part of an endless party in their laid-back Southern Californian lifestyle. They started off by jamming late nights in Bushnell's very own soundproof garage. His four-track recorder helped them make the kind of music they listened to. Their inspirational sounds Sublime, Bob Marley, 311, The Beastie Boys were there to keep them on track. Bushnell was a punk rocker deep down while Watson a rapper. They collaborated to focus on their musical interest and compose grooviest hip-hop ever.
In 2003 when the two formalized the band Watson decided to take over the vocals and lyrics. Post-Modern Rock, Punk Rock, Reggae, Ska, hip-hop everything came to influence the two. They packed acoustic hip-hop tracks with reggae inflections and presented a very unique Southern Californian style reggae. This was Dirty Heads' signature music, and it was good. good to hear and feel.
After a couple of recordings Watson and Bushnell felt the need to complete the band's sound. Jon Olazabal came as percussionist and Matt Ochoa joined as the drummer. The addition was a very positive one as these musicians had talent and the boys needed that to get solid music out. The Dirty Heads took their music to a level above when they started playing live. They performed at bars, cafes and small theaters all over the west coast; in a couple of years the band had a commendable fans base, which followed the band. The band also played on demand and provided support to fans coming to see them perform live.
Producer Rob Cavallo helped the band record their first studio debut album. This effort came to a standstill when the recording labels Warner could not make a settlement with them. The finished recording their album, Any Port in a Storm with the help of producers Stan Frazier and Steve Fox.. They tuned up the band's music and pushed them to develop a star like outlook. The Dirty Heads were successful in doing so; soon they released their full-length debut album. This one became a highly anticipated release for the band's fans. It was released on EMG by Fontana in 2008. The album was all about pure sun-soaked fun. It had great party energy typical of Southern California This album came out as an effort by the band and many other support and guest artists. From the first track Stand Tall to Chelsea and Driftin, the album had a very high feel good factor. The band's fans and followers loved. The deluxe edition of this album came out in 2010 with Lay Me Down as highlight. The song did prove itself and topped the Billboard's Alternative Songs chart soon after hitting stands.
The Heads were all enthusiastic after the first album stirred some waves. They were all set to start work on the next album Cabin By the Sea. The album was released in 2012 by Five Seven and featured Spread Too Thin (a no.13 on US Alternative Charts) and Dance All Night that featured Matisyahu (a No. 32 on US Alternative Charts). The band's music became important in mainstream when they made music for Surf's Up (2007), Surfer Dude, Shark staring James Woods (a TV drama on CBS that was aired in 2007), Downhill Jam video game (2007).
The band tours regularly and this season it returns to play some of its best music for its fans. With The Dirty Heads tickets you can enjoy them perform upfront. Book The Dirty Heads tickets today and get the seats of your choice.
