The blessed musician Teresa Williams has announced a 2015 tour across North America with her husband and veteran musician Larry Campbell. The duo will be heading to various cities starting off June 6, 2015 as part of the Mountain Jam Festival at the Hunter Mountain in Hunter. The tour is slated to conclude in Phoenix on October 28, 2015 and fans have started to rush to get the Teresa Williams tickets before it gets too late. During the tour the pair will also have a two month performance stint alongside rock singer Jackson Browne starting September and ending in October. The trio is excited to relive the memories of the Midnight Ramble where the three last played together a few years ago with the late Levon Helm. Fans wouldn't want to miss this once in a blue moon chance to catch their favorite stars together in action once again.
Background and Music Association
Teresa Williams spent her early days at her family's farm in West Tennessee, picking cotton in the fields while she witnessed the evolution of roots music and the development of Americana. As a young aspirant, Williams was exposed to the musical advancements in Nashville, Muscle Shoal, Delta and Kentucky and often sang at the Church. The would-be artist soon moved to New York to take a chance at building her career and started acting in theatres and making country music. Williams had brief performance spells with Southern Comfort and Swing Fever before she finally played the celebrated role of lead vocalist Sara Carter of the 1960s Bluegrass Country band The Original Carter Family, in a regional theatre. The singer also toured with the famous Friends and Phil Lesh and sang alongside big names like Mavis Staples, Hot Tuna, Emmylou Harris, Little Feat, Bonnie Bramlett and Buddy Miller. The singer unexpectedly reached a turning point in her life when she met the multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell at a local club.
Marriage and Midnight Ramble
Larry Campbell was a country, roots and rock musician in New York and proposed to Teresa Williams for marriage after they met in 1988. After marriage, the two occasionally sang together in Tennessee and composed songs with the famous Bob Dylan's band, but never thought of a full-fledged duet act. The two worked on distinct projects throughout their careers and travelled separately on tours. In 2005 the couple reached a crucial point in its career when the well-known drummer and singer Levon Helm invited it to join his Midnight Ramble group. The artist planned to launch concerts at his property barn in New York and this was to become a breakthrough platform for the pair. Campbell reached new heights of fame with the band, receiving three Grammy Awards and the Americana Association Lifetime Achievement Award, while Williams became an esteemed member. Sadly for the band, Helm died in 2012 leaving the rest of the band members aggrieved. The couple decided to pay tribute to the late artist and planned to release their first duet album featuring feats from their time with Helm's Midnight Ramble.
Debut Accomplishment
The couple worked on releasing their self-titled debut album showcasing eleven songs, three of which were reworks of its performances with Helm. Songs like "Surrender to Love", "Bad Luck Charm" and the heartrending "Another One More Time" bear testimony to the maturity the couple attained during their years with Helm. "Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams" is due to release on June 23, 2015 and features eight completely original works by the husband and wife duo. The album has a guest performance by Helm's daughter Amy Helm and also showcases keyboardist Bill Payne.
