A man called David King decided to follow on the success of Riverdance and created a new and vibrant show. He took in dance styles from every corner of the globe.

To turn his dream into reality, David King borrowed money, mortgaged his house, and, after a tremendous amount of work, he managed to put together a show at the Hippodrome Theatre in Bristol. He called the show Spirit of the Dance which proved to be a sensation.

Today, with three hundred and fifty dancers, Spirit of the Dance is a ten multi-award winning troupe constantly tours around the world. In one recent audience polls, the theatres patrons voted Spirit of the Dance their favorite show of the past eight years at the Civic Theatre.
