Several Species was formed in the year 1996 as a Pink Floyd tribute band. Originally, the band was made up of only Bob Bartram, Matt Zoll and Chris Scholtes. However, it now includes eleven members such as Seth Berkowitz on the keyboard, Zoll on the drums, Bob Bartram on the bass guitar, Chris Scholtes on the lead guitar, Marc Davis on the lead vocals, Chuck Field on the keys, Courtney Bittinger on the vocals, Hollie Brogunier on the vocals, George Gipe on the slide guitar, acoustic and electric guitar and Brandy Reece also on the vocals.

These extremely talented musicians are dedicated to bringing Pink Floyd music to life once again on stage and their performances are famous for being exactly the same as a real Pink Floyd experience. They manage to blare out the most moving and accurate rendition of the band's music ever heard. Their live stage performances are very popular with the crowd. The initial three members of the band started out playing together long before they formed Several Species. They formed a speed metal group in high school, which was called Hallowed Bane. In college, they were part of a jazz fusion band named Europa. At this time, they started to play some Floyd songs as Chris had been a fan ever since sixth grade. Over the course of time, they fine tuned their music and experimented with instruments. What resulted was an amazing group of musicians recreating music and moving hearts.

They have performed at numerous places such as Delaware, where they headlined the June Jam festival; Ohio, where they were also the headliners at the Nelson Ledges Quarry Park rock tribute festival and many more as well. Their performances include brilliant lighting, which is handled by Angelo Kokkinakos. They use the Advanced Entertainment Technologies (AET) for their laser shows.

Most of the songs they play are from albums such as The Wall, Animals, Wish You Were Here, DSOTM and Meddle. Some of their most popular renditions include On the Turning Away, Learning to Fly and more. Their music is known to be touching, exciting and unique and fans never get enough of them at their live shows.
