Ronn Lucas
Ronn Lucas, one of the best's ventriloquist and slapstick comedian. Raised in El Paso, Texas, Lucas graduated from Eastwood High School.
Whilst at the School, he began performing at people-drawing-places like Saint Timothy's Lutheran church. Lucas has made several appearances in numerous television programs and live shows.
He was one of several regional winners. He first garnered the attention of people when won Laff-Off competition in 1982. The show was aired on the Showtime cable network. To-date, Ronn Lucas has gathered an array of awards, primarily for his exclusive and creative work.
Several times Best Entertainer award winning Ronn Lucas signed up for a television series titled 'The Ronn Lucas Show' in the early 1990s. Lucas showed up on the Match Game in 1990, as well as made his appearance on the TV series Night Court.
Later he did Silk Stalkings, LA Law. Most recently he showed up in America's Funniest Home Videos, on Nip/Tuck and on The Late Show with David Letterman. His recent works also include his appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Circus of the Stars.
Ronn has also been a part of the Broadway cast of The Will Rogers Follies. While doing stand-up shows, he uses an audience member as a dummy to add to the overall effectiveness of the show.
In December 2006, Ronn Lucas headlined several separate stints. Only in Las Vegas, he showed up at five different hotels. It was this City where he made a five year deal for a show which was shut down midway through 2007.
Ronn Lucas was the first ventriloquist in the history of Vegas to have such a long-running show. Lucas is also noted for being a performer of several Us Presidents such as President Reagan.
He would perform at the Kennedy Center upon Reagans request. Ronn also performed for President Clinton and President George W. Bush at, at Ford's Theatre. He also performed for Queen Elizabeth at the London Palladium.
In 2007, Ronn Lucas won 'America's Got Talent' by combining the skills of a ventriloquist along with that of a singing impressionist. Later, Mr. Fator raised the bar for the art form of ventriloquism.
Whilecommenting on the bar during an inteview, Ronn said, ' I appreciate that Mr Fator did that!'. Over the next six months, Ronn took the art form even higher. Besides, Ronn also owns a DVD of Who's In Charge Here? which was produced for Disney Channel.
Also noteworthy is the fact that the New York Times hailed Ronn Lucas as the world's best ventriloquist. During the 2008-2009 pantomime seasons in London he played the part of Buttons in Cinderella at the Wimbledon Theatre.
Lucas is indeed amongst the funniest comedians of the country. He also managed to win National Laugh-Off twice and became a center of attention. As of the end of August 2008, Ronn chose to close his show at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas just to re-tool it.
