The Christian experimental, worship, folk/rock band, Rend Collective is known for their ingenuity and imagination. The five-piece ensemble calls a range of children's toys and handmade objects instruments and with them compose the most unique and unexpected music. Formed in 2007, today the band is at a point where their music meets the current culture all the while infusing worship elements. The phenomenal quintet will soon hit the road and perform alongside Chris Tomlin on his Love Ran Red Tour. In this trek they will also be joined by Tenth Avenue North. Rend Collective tickets for their upcoming concerts are now available.
Hailing from Northern Ireland, Rend Collective have established themselves as a modern praise and worship band. Initially finding fame as the Rend Collective Experiment, they remained true to their name and treated the fans to creative and spiritual music collection. Their compositions infused experimental folk-rock elements and were laced with praise lyrics. When the band first started out, it had many members and they all had only one purpose; to sync spirituality with the confusions and complexities of life in the 21st century. As the band started performing more, several members left and today their lineup includes the drummer Gareth Gilkeson, Chris Llewellyn as the vocalist, keyboardist and percussionist Ali Gilkeson and bassists Patrick Thompson and Stephen Mitchell.
Their debut album came out in 2010, titled "Organic Family Hymnal", followed by 2012's "Homemade Worship by Handmade People". Released by Kingsway Music, it peaked at 23rd position on the Christian chart and at number 14 on the Heatseekers. For their next two albums, Rend Collective signed with Integrity Record and released "Campfire" in 2013 and "The Art of Celebration" in 2014. Rend Collective has been able to earn a huge fan following because of the freshness they bring in the expression of worship. They have set themselves apart with their indie-folk sound, strange yet fantastic instruments and lively performances.
According to the frontman Chris Llewellyn, the band never expected to find such fame. Starting as a Bible study and prayer movement that didn't have much to do with music, they eventually evolved into a worship band. Rend Collective have always introduced themselves as one big family. They've called their brand of music Organic worship that has a natural and honest connection with God. In the album "The Art of Celebration", Rend Collection has taken inspiration from the verse that states that "joy (and not seriousness) is a fruit of the spirit". The album opens with the sound of acoustic guitars and joyful lyrics. With the track Joy, Rend Collective jumps into a powerful, upbeat chorus that sets the overall tone of the album. The beats are a bit closer to pop than the band's usual folk style and the lyrics like always stand out. Other popular numbers from the album are My Lighthouse, Finally Free and Simplicity.
People with Rend Collective tickets for their live shows will instantly be hooked to the weird instruments and high octane performance. The band brings the joy and energy of all its albums to stage and shares it with the equally enthusiastic crowd. Don't miss their phenomenal performance when they stop by in your city.
