Playboy Jazz Festival tickets will treat you to a weekend of jazz tunes in the company of the most talented artists of the genre. Founded by Hugh Hefner, the two-day event is sponsored by Playboy Enterprises as a means of celebrating the rich heritage of the music form. The festival was initially held as a onetime occasion at the Chicago Stadium in the year 1959.  However, after twenty years it was decided to re-launch the event on a yearly basis starting from 1979. Playboy Jazz Festival returns at the Hollywood Bowl this June to commemorate thirty five years of extraordinary jazz entertainment. The festival is produced by Darlene Chan.

The special occasion will be hosted by a new MC (Master of Ceremony), George Lopez. Previously Bill Cosby had been doing the honor for over thirty years. However upon his decision of retirement from the position, the management carried out an extensive and thorough research until they settled for the Grammy nominated actor and comedian George Lopez. The multi talented entertainer is a well known name in television, radio, films and standup comedy. He has made over two hundred appearances in television comedies and talk shows. In addition to that he has also co-hosted the prestigious Latin Grammys and Emmy Awards. Besides he has also been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Latin-American star is now heading towards his new professional endeavor as the MC of the Playboy Jazz Festival. He has lately been getting many interesting tips and pointers from Bill Cosby regarding the various aspects of the music event. Thus the carnival is expected to be all entertainment that it has always been, with some surprising new additions and offerings.

Joined by George Lopez, is an eclectic lineup ranging from festival favorites to jazz stars along with some fresh and exciting faces of the music world. The first day of the festival will witness an exclusive performance by the famous multi faceted musician, George Duke. The composer/singer has collaborated and performed alongside many acclaimed artists of the music industry including the renowned musician Frank Zappa. At the Playboy Jazz Festival taking place in June, Duke is expected to present an exclusive performance with the increasingly popular R&B and funk musician named Linton Osborne.

Additionally, many more artists shall follow the same performing pattern in many acts of the show. The rest of the lineup for the first day of the festival includes Naturally 7 performing alongside Herbie Hancock and Angelique Kiddo with Hugh Masekela. Poncho Sanchez will be making an appearance along with his Latin Jazz Band featuring James Carter as a special guest. Big Phat Band of Gordon Goodwin has invited Lee Ritenour to share the stage with them Gregory Porter, Robert Glasper Experiment and Grace Kelly Quintet alongside the guest Phil Woods are also part of the lineup.  Pedrito Martiniz Group featuring Ariacne Trujillo and the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts Jazz Ensemble will also be performing under the direction of Jason Goldman.

The second day will showcase an exclusive 80^th birthday celebration/tribute to Quincy Jones performed by the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra along with Patti Austin and Hubert laws. Other expected musical acts of the festival include those by Bob James/Davis Sanborn with James Genus and Steve Gadd, Sheila E, Ladysmith Black Mombazo, Taj Mahal &The Real Thing Tuba Band, Jazzantiqua Dance & Music Ensemble, Trombone Shortly & Orleans Avenue and a special tribute to Dave Brubeck by Brubeck Brothers Quartet.
