Of Monsters Men Tickets

Of Monsters and Men is a famous indie folk and pop band from Iceland, that was founded in 2010. In just a short amount of time, it has not only captivated native Iceland, but spread out across Europe and the US, gaining fans by the boatload. Its members are singer and guitarist Nanna Bryndis Hilmarsdottir, singer and guitarist Ragnar Dorhallsson, drummer Arna Rosenkranz Hilmarsson, guitarist Brynjar Leifsson and bassist Kritsjan Pall Kristjansson. Signed onto Universal Records, Of Monsters and Men rose to fame after it won an annual battle of the bands in Iceland. In 2011, it released its first record, an EP labeled Into the Woods. The same year, it released its first studio album, titled My Head Is An Animal, that ranked a smashing sixth on the Billboard 200 charts in the US, as well as topping charts all over Europe. One of the album's singles ranked first on the US Alternative Songs charts, topping five other European charts in eh process.
 
Winner of the European Border Breakers Awards, Of Monsters and Men has had its music compared to that of American acts such as Mumford & Sons, Aracade Fire and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. It was founded by Nanna Bryndis Hilmarsdottir, when she decided to turn her solo project into a full fledged band. Starting with four, the band expanded to six members and began touring Iceland venues, as well as recording new music.
 
In 2010, Of Monsters and Men performed at the Iceland Airwaves festival, where KEXP, a radio station based in Seattle, Washington, recorded them performing one of their songs. In 2011, they were signed onto Record Records, releasing their debut album in 2011. American stations, starting with Radio 104.5 in Philadelphia, began playing their songs, propelling them to national fame. Their debut album and debut single both ranked first in Iceland, the US and other European countries. Their popularity led to them being signed onto Universal Records, leading to American concerts at festivals such as Lollapalooza, Newport Folk Festival and the Osheaga Festival.
 
Of Monsters and Men also toured Europe, visiting countries such as Italy, Sweden, Ireland and Germany. They appeared live on Sound Tracks: Music Without Borders, a PBS show, performing one of their new songs.
