Nick Jonas's talent was discovered at an unconventional place. Six years old Nick was with his mother at a hair salon, humming a song when she was approached by some random person who encouraged her to take her son to a music company. She followed the advice and it was the start of Jonas's career as a Broadway child actor. He was seen in many award winning musicals such as the Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, A Christmas Carol and The Sound of Music. Nick made his songwriting debut in 2002 when he co-wrote a holiday song that later made its way to the Broadway Christmas album. Two years later he signed with Columbia Records and started writing songs to release his solo album. Things however didn't work out the way he planned and he was joined by his brothers Kevin and Joseph in his musical journey. The siblings aptly named themselves the Jonas Brothers.
It wasn't any easy ride for the Jonas Brothers and it took them a lot of time and effort to make their place in the industry. Their first record, "It's About Time" was a flop and soon they were dropped by Columbia Records. They managed to sign a contract with Hollywood Records and reentered the music scene through Disney. Jonas Brothers featured on the network's shows, managed to get their own series and even starred in the movie featuring Demi Lovato. By this time the Brothers were able to earn a massive fan following, mostly in young females and released their second album. They finally hit the mark and followed their success with "A Little Bit Longer" and 2009 release "Lines, Vines and Trying Times". In all these albums Nick made huge contributions as a songwriter as well as an instrumentalist, playing various instruments such as keyboard, drums and guitar.
In 2009, Nick Jonas briefly took a break from the band and worked on side projects with other musicians. He formed the band Nick Jonas & the Administration with Tommy Barbarella and Michael Bland and released an album in 2010 titled "Who I Am". The record peaked at number three on the US charts and recorded massive sales. However, soon rumors surfaced about Jonas going back to the Jonas Brothers and it eventually led to their disbandment. In 2013 he also parted ways with the Jonas Brothers but ended things on good note with his brothers, stating that it was a wise move that has brought the brothers even closer. In 2014 Nick Jonas was part of many tours including Demi Lovato's Neon Lights Tour.
Nick Jonas's debut solo record has made it to the Billboard 200, clinching sixth position. With the album Jonas planned to surprise his fans with the unexpected as he has opened up emotionally and allowed himself to be vulnerable. The record is an artistic blend of R&B, pop and soul, laced with influences from legendary musicians like Stevie Wonder and Prince. It includes hit tracks like "Jealous", "Chains" and "Teacher". There is another song "Avalanche" that features Demi Lovato. Nick Jonas will be bringing his new and old tracks on his upcoming tour with Iggy Azalea. It promises to be a grand event, so don't miss it.
