The first act will be by Chuck Fenda. Fenda's real name is Leshorn Whitehead. He is a reggae musician and an American DJ. Even though he was born in America, he is very Jamaican. This is because he and his family moved to Jamaica when Fenda was still an infant. His time in Jamaica attracted him to the sounds of the area; off tempo piano and slow guitar music. Dwight Duncan, better known as Bushman, entered the music scene in the year 1997. Since he is a Rastafarian, he knows everything from ska to roots beats to reggae. Music has been an important part of Duncan's life from a very young age. Due to his continuous presence in the music scene, he managed to create a small fan following in his area. It was when he was done with his education that he took a serious step towards entering music professionally. He met up with producers Steely and Cleeve after he moved to Kingston. After taking part in an audition at Studio 2000 he managed to get noticed by some producers who then went to work on his debut project. Anthony B began his career in the year 1996 with more than just many releases; twenty one compilation records and twenty six albums (studio). His music shows a lot of diversity which is obvious from his collaborations with well-known rap artists such as Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dog and Bone Crusher.

Wait for Green is another group that will be performing at the "Newport Waterfront Reggae Festival" this year. What is so special about them is that their music is a fusion of rock and reggae. This is one aspect that attracts many rock music lovers too. This is a relatively newer group and has already released an EP titled In Motion.
