First up is Eva Ayllon from Peru who ranks among the most famous names to come out the country when it comes to music. She began her professional career way back in the year 1970 as "Eva." Her love affair with music however began when she was only three years old when she started to practice vocals. That took her to performing in different competitions while she was in school.
She then began to perform in music groups as soon as the 1970's began. She then decided to go solo somewhere around 1975 and by the time 1979 rolled into town, she had already went on tours to Europe and North America. Eva came out with her first album for the US market in 2004. It was titled Eva! Leyenda Peruana and she has been a huge presence in the United States ever since. She has released one hit after another to rank among the most famous Latin music stars in recent memory. Eva has also been nominated for a whopping six Latin Grammys.
Joining her at the Mujeres Con Cajones will be Albita Rodriguez. The Cuban-American star has been at the top of the mountain for quite a long time now. She comes from a family of music enthusiasts. Both her parents used to sing folk music in Cuba so that is where she got her inspiration to become a musician as well.
Albita began her career as a teenager and by the late 1980's she was among the biggest names in Cuban music. Albita's first album was titled Habra Musica Guajira in the year 1988. She went to Colombia in 1990 and then from there she moved to the United States where she has been based ever since. She now performs on a regular basis not only in the United States but all across the world in different continents. She has won two Grammy Awards and a whole lot of other accolades as well to cement her place as a brilliant performer.
Last but definitely not the least, there is Olga Cerpa Garcia. She comes from Spain and spent her childhood in a village there. She used to spend quite a lot of time listening to traditional tracks and from there she began to perform in different contests when she was in school. She became a member of Mestisay, a Spanish band in 1986. Olga was appointed as the lead vocal and that was her first foray into music.
Her incredible talents have given her a chance to work with the likes of Tontxu, Julio Pereira, Kepa Junquera, The Sabandenos and Milladoiro. She is also a constant presence on the annual touring calendar. Olga has performed in more than dozen countries around the world. She has also hosted the show Redivivo in her native Spain to become one of the most famous names in the Spanish entertainment world.
The Mujeres Con Cajones will pit three amazing performers from three different backgrounds together for one common goal. The power of their music will bind them together as they perform at what promises to be a wonderful exhibition of Latin music.
