A production of AC Entertainment, Mountain Oasis Festival is held in Asheville, NC. The event was previously called Moogfest and its new name is set to be Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit. After the success of Mountain Oasis Festival in previous years, 2013 festival is ready with a brand new lineup comprising of 50+ artists and acts. Bassnectar, Nine Inch Nails and Pretty Lights are three prominent names in the electronic music and these three are also the main feature of Mountain Oasis Festival 2013 along with other artists. This three-day music mania will have Bassnectar, Neutral Milk Hotel, Sparks, Rusty, Bondax, Tricky, Daniel Johnston, Jacques Greene, Half Japanese, Silver Apples, Ital and People Get Ready on the first day; Nine Inch Nails, Animal Collective, Gary Numan, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Sorne, Delorean, Actress, Bosnian Rainbows, The Bug, Zola Jesus & JG Thirwell and Chromatics on the second day and; Pretty Lights, How to Destroy Angels, Mount Kimbie, Disclosure, T. Williams, Robert Delong, Autre Ne Vuet, Shlohmo, Jessie Ware and Ulrich Schnauss on the third day. More will keep on adding.
This lineup is an eclectic mix of artists belonging to diverse music groups like Pretty Lights and Bassnectar are electronic music mega-famous acts while Neutral Milk Hotel and Daniel Johnston are the icons of folk. The festival is even more special as it is a reunion of Neutral Milk Hotel and there are a lot of people who are excited to have them back. Moreover, the headlining acts features everyone’s favorite Trent Razor who will be performing with Nine Inch Nails as well as How to Destroy Angels.
Performances at the festival are mostly indoors to make the ambience a little more intimate. And since it’s a festival, the concerts will be held in different venues but each one within the walking distance of each other. The two auditoriums of U.S. Cellular Center (Thomas Wolfe Auditorium and ExploreAsheville.com Arena), the Asheville Music Hall, The Diana Wortham Theatre and the Orange Peel are some of the venues where the concerts will be held.
