Born in 1982, Elizabeth Corrin Maurusi, mostly renowned as her stage name Lissie is an American folk rock music artist. Presenting a unique mix of country, folk and rock, Lissie is famous for setting the stage on fire with her melodious voice and perfect blend of music. She grew up in Rock Island, Illinois with a physician father and an interior designer mother. Since her childhood, she was interested in singing and dancing. After playing different roles in high school musicals, she started to contact musicians and DJs. She finally got her chance and collaborated with SCI Fidelity Records' DJ Harry on the song All My Life. This song was featured in famous television shows including House MD, Veronica Mars, The O.C. and Wildfire. In 2007, she produced an extended play of four songs and in 2008, co-wrote The Longest Road with DJ Morgan Page. The song peaked at no. four on Billboard charts and its remix got nominated for a Grammy.

Lissie released her debut extended play in November 2009 titled Why You Runnin produced by Bill Reynolds. The EP featured songs like Oh Mississippi and Why You Runnin which received positive reviews. The EP was also included among "Eight Most Auspicious Musical Debuts of 2009" by Paste Magazine. She released her debut album in June 2010 titled Catching a Tiger with Columbia Records of Sony Music UK. The album received favorable reviews with Paul Cole of Sunday Mercury calling it "a stunning debut album" while BBC writer Mike Diver wrote "she sounds like one of the greatest female vocalists of a generation, arguably without even really trying". The album was certified gold in UK and it peaked at number 5 on US Billboard Folk albums and number 12 on UK album charts. The album features lead single In Sleep, When I'm Alone and Cuckoo. In Sleep was selected by Q as track of the day on 13 March 2010 while When I'm Alone was chosen by iTunes UK as song of the year in 2010.

Her song Little Lovin was featured in Season 2 promo of Justified on FX. She was also featured on four tracks of album Fallen Empires by Snow Patrol in 2011. Her EP Covered Up With Flowers was released in November 2011. She has collaborated with Bigband, Robbie Williams and Ellie Goulding at several occasions. Her second album is to be released in late 2013.

Besides having a devoted and loyal fan following, Lissie has garnered several awards and positive reviews from critics. She was nominated as "Best Breakthrough Artist" by Q Awards. In 2010, she won awards for "Best New Solo Artist" and "Cover of the Year" by Paste Magazine.
