Sean Scolnick a Langhorne, Pennsylvania native was passionate about music since early childhood. While graduating from high school he indulged in his interest and love for music. Once out of school he pursued his academic endeavors further. This self taught guitarist graduated from the SUNY's Conservatory of Music at Purchase College; trained and geared up to cement himself as a big name of rock music.
 
Like most rock n roll artists Langhorne Slim was not able to escape the extremely strong influence of the legendarily British band, the Beatles. Moreover, he became an fanatical fan of the Beatles front man John Lennon whose writing and musical style seems to have greatly molded Langhorne's musical development. In the early nineties when Grunge music ruled the airwaves Langhorne got hooked to the strong guitar driven sound of Nirvana. As same critics point out, one can trace of Kurt Cobain's singing style in Langhorne's vocalization as well.
 
Langhorne Slim's music career bears scars of a hard toil. His climb to success was not easy in any way until he became a part of the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players for multiple tours. Langhorne Slim's experience of live touring with a band benefited him in many ways. Apart from gaining confidence, exploring his natural flair for music he also realized the hidden potential of using his very loud live side. As a consequence Langhorne Slim got a chance to play at various musical festivals in the country and tour with established acts. Performing with names such as The Violent Femmes, The Avett Brothers and Josh Writer; he connected with useful resource person in the industry. These names further influenced him to work on independent releases.
 
Langhorne Slim started as an independent alternative country venture in 1999. Slim Pickens and then Langhorne Slim w/ Charles Butler came out as independent releases. Since they went unnoticed, Langhorne decided to shift away from an independent status. He switched more and became the backbone and part of a band. Slim and his band comprising of Jeff Ratner, Malachi DeLorenzo and David Moore were a part of the artist first record deal. The band was amazing fusion of a variety of instruments and styles. DeLorenzo's drums coupled with Ratner's skillful bass and Moore's banjo. Narnack Records signed them up to release Electric Love Letter and When the Sun's Gone Down; scheduled for release a year apart. In 2006 V2 Records shelled them under its umbrella and the EP named Engine was realized as Langhorne Slim's debut studio effort. This album remained rather subdued keeping things in a waiting queue for both Slim and his band.
 
It was not until 2008 that Langhorne Slim decided and chalked out his progression in the career of music. Two years after the release of the debut EP Langhorne and his band launched their first successful self titled commercial album into the market. It was an instant hit in the public circles and won a performance at the famous Late Show with David Letterman. Langhorne Slim toured throughout the year 2009 in order support the album before going back to the studios for the next venture Be Set Free. Their album The Way We Move came to stands in the summer of 2012 and is being supported by Langhorne Slim on tour.
