The event has created quite a stir in the past and has is usually sold out. Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds will be head lining the KBLX Hot Summer Night event. He is a popular R&B songwriter, singer and musician as well as a record producer. Babyface has produced and written more than 26 number one hit songs throughout his career. He has also won ten Grammy Awards. He enjoys a massive fan base that can be seen at the sold out events that he performs at. His performance at the event is a greatly anticipated one.
 

Blackstreet is the second act that will be performing at the event. The name of the band is commonly stylized as BLACKstreet. The group was created by Chauncey Hannibal, also known as "C. Black," and Teddy Riley. The main musical genres of the band are hip hop, funk, soul, new jack swing and R&B. The band has worked and performed with numerous other famous bands and musicians such as Bink, Leon Sylvers III, Jay-Z, Guy, Bobby Brown, SWV, Rodney Jerkins, Danja, Michael Jackson and Foxy Brown. The current lineup of the band comprises Eric Williams, Chauncey Hannibal, Mark Middleton and Levi Little. Their performance at the event is expected to be rocking.

Jagged Edge is a famous R&B band whose lead vocalists are also identical twins. Brian and Brandon Casey are the third performing act of the show. Their band includes Richard Wingo and Kyle Norman. The band has a series of number one hit singles, most of which have been produced by Dupri Records. Brothers Brandon and Brain write most of the material for the group. Moreover, they have written songs for other known artists as well, such as Toni Braxton, Nivea and Usher. The Jagged Edge has a great fan following. Their live shows are a delight to be a part of.

112 is another R&B band and is a quartet hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. The quartet is associated with the Def Soul roster. They have produced hit singles like "Anywhere," "Only You," as well as the Grammy Award nominated song, "Peaches and Cream." They won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo in 1998 for the hit song, "I'll Be Missing You," in collaboration with Faith Evans and Sean Combs.

Dru Hill, a celebrated American band that was greatly popular in the late 1990s, will be the fifth act at the music extravaganza. The main musical genres of the band include gospel, soul and R&B music. They have recorded a total of seven Top 40 hit songs such as "How Deep Is Your Love," "Never Make a Promise," and "In My Bed." Their live shows are filled with great energy and the ambience is an experience of a lifetime.

Next is the sixth act that will grace the KBLX Hot Summer Night show. They too are a popular R&B band. Next was most popular in the late 1990s. Their songs, "I Still Love You," "Too Close," and "Wifey," earned them tremendous popularity in the music circuit.

Rick & Russ are the seventh act that will perform live at the event. They are most commonly heard each weekend on the 102.9 KBLX station. They are expected to keep the party rolling at this year's show.

"Big Russ" is one of those names that are quite indistinguishable with the Bay Area's music scene for the past 25 years. Russ is known for keeping his audience engaged with his performance from the moment he starts and right till the end. Rick is a very talented DJ.
