Joel McHale
An American television host, comedian, and actor, Joel Edward McHale is best known as the host of The Soup on E! Entertainment Television. Joel McHale is currently filming The Informant in Decatur, Illinois.

He"s playing a character of FBI Agent Robert Herndon along side Matt Damon. McHale has a long association with Circle X Theatre, where he has done an array of plays. Besides doing commercials for Burger King, Dockers, and Sealy, he also frequently appears as a co-host on Loveline.

Joel McHale was born on November 20, 1971 in Rome, Italy, and grew up in the Seattle area. McHale graduated from Mercer Island High School in suburban Seattle in 1990, received a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Washington in 1995.

He was a member of the school's 1991 national championship team and became part of the Theta Chi Fraternity while at the University of Washington. McHale was recruited to be on the rowing team, but later walked onto the football team. He played tight end for two years.

Prior to completing the Professional Actors Training Program at the University of Washington, Joel McHale became part of the Almost Live! Cast. Almost Live! was a local sketch-comedy TV show which was produced by Seattle's KING-TV (Channel 5). During 1993 to 1997, he was a member of the improv comedy group at Unexpected Productions.

He also participated in Theatersports! at the Market Theater, located in downtown Seattle. After graduating, McHale relocated to Los Angeles and landed small roles on Oliver Beene, CSI: Miami, and Will & Grace.

Around that time, Joel McHale also served as a TV reporter in the dramatic biopic Lords of Dogtown. The year 1996 saw McHale getting married to Sarah Williams. The two have two sons, Edward Roy and Isaac Hayden.

Also on Joel McHale"s credit are his guest appearances as a cast member on the NBC reality show Thank God You're Here and in episode 1.6 of the ABC show Pushing Daisies. McHale also played a character of the bank manager in Spider-Man 2.

Joel McHale is presently hosting a satirical weekly television show, The Soup, on the E! television network. During the show, McHale takes the audience through the oddities and ridiculous events of the week in television.

The Soup has become a cult hit due to his stinging criticism of American entertainment and pop culture obsession. Lou the chihuahua, Mankini, and the Spaghetti Cat are comedic points of The Soup. The show presents a unique combination of his comedic talent and off-kilter subject material.

In addition to playing host to The Soup, Joel McHale is also a weekly guest on the Adam Carolla Show and Mickey and Amelia Show. McHale occasionally appears on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann in a humor sequence at the end of the show.

He often makes appearances on the Kidd Chris Show on 94.1 WYSP in Philadelphia and has been a judge on Iron Chef America. McHale is also an occasional guest on the Opie and Anthony show.
